Memories of ABC Cinema by Steve D.

“My first memory of ABC was queueing up around the corner (now where DFC Chicken is) and down the [Prince of Wales] road to get in to watch Jurassic Park. A good few years later I had my first date with my wife watching ‘Sliding Doors’ and remember my mum dropping us off from the car outside, needless to say, the queue for that film wasn’t so long. In recent times I have visited the building in the guise of a nightclub and it doesn’t take too much imagination to remember how it used to be when it was a cinema. It is a shame that most people will only ever know it as a place to go clubbing and drinking.”
